Cory Hedgecock Captures $3,500 Craig Reece Memorial at Boyd’s Speedway

RINGGOLD, GA (October 30, 2016)—Cory Hedgecock of Loudon, Tenn. captured the $3,500 payday Saturday Night October 29th in the Craig Reece Memorial sanctioned by CT Promotions for the Crate Late Models at Boyd’s Speedway.

The race was held in memory of long-time Dalton, Ga. driver Craig Reece, known as the “Dalton Bad Boy” who passed away in February of this year.

Hedgecock drove to Victory Lane for the 20th time this season while in the SmithBuilt Homes, Brucebuilt Performance, K&P Used Cars, Eagle Race Engines, Rebel Diesel, Timeless Memories Photography, Renegade Fuels and ET Motorgear-sponsored entry. Hedgecock made contact with race leader Jeff Smith coming off turn four to take the lead with just nine circuits remaining to go on to the big payday.

Two caution flags slowed the 35-lapper. The first yellow came on lap 11 for debris on the racing surface and the final yellow came on lap 19 as Ross White slowed with a broken shock.

In preliminary action, Hedgecock set fast time with a 14.432 seconds besting a field of 47 entrants. Heat Race Winners were Jimmy Elliott of Cleveland, Tenn., Chip Brindle of Chatsworth, Ga., John Ownbey of Ooltewah, Tenn. and Jesse Lowe of Crossville, Tenn.

The next CT Promotions events will be on Saturday November 26th at the 411 Motor Speedway in Seymour, Tenn. for the Inaugural Leftover race paying $5,000-to-win for the Super Late Models plus $1,200 to win Open Wheel Modifieds and also $2,000-to-win for the Crate Late Models and $1,200-to-win for the Sportsman Late Models. CT Promotions will sanction the Super Late Model and Open Wheel Modified portion of the program.
